About the artist
Born in November, 1970, Adam Popovic has been painting since 2004. His passion for art began in high school and he has dabbled in painting throughout his life. Popovic is a self-taught artist who uses shapes and unique colour combinations to create bold artworks that can be interpreted in many ways by its viewers. The majority of his pieces are designed in such a way that they can be rotated to reveal a different aspect. Popovic's inspiration comes from many sources, ranging from noticing the play of shadows cast through a window to a piece of furniture in a design magazine. However, he is most likely to paint concepts, colours and combinations unique to his imagination.
He paints first and foremost for personal enjoyment and to express his creativity, "[I] paint for myself, if someone else gets it - bonus." A recurring theme in his most recent paintings is vibrant colour, however he does not want to restrict himself to a particular style and is interested in exploring new pathways. Popovic names his artworks randomly so as not to lead the viewers interpretation. He hopes his paintings will speak of his sense of humour and open mind.
